mobile (2021)

During the 1.5 years of pandemic isolation, I had spent countless hours sitting in a position similar to this, scrolling mindlessly down various social media feeds. The idea that mobile phones were invented so that we can take them with us became quite ironic in a situation where we had nowhere to go. This little screen transforms into a window to the world, allowing us to go anywhere while simultaneously entrapping us. This work is a contemplation on the meaning of "mobile" and how the widespread use of the smartphone has changed our way of life.
