lightcatcher (2020)

This work presented a great challenge for my understanding of colour theory due to the dominating presence of high chroma projected images. After much struggle with keeping the values in line and attempting to produce the effect of glowing projections, I ended up painting the darker areas with traditional pigments while delicately layering organic pigments in thin layers upon an opaque white base to take advantage of the undertones.
